Campbell Hall Rehabilitation Center, a 134-bed skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility, is seeking a dependable and experienced Cook to join our Dietary Services team. The Cook plays a vital role in preparing nutritious, appetizing meals that meet the dietary needs of our residents while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and sanitation.

Position Summary

The Cook is responsible for preparing and serving meals according to approved menus, physician-ordered diets, and facility policies. The ideal candidate will have experience in healthcare, long-term care, or institutional food service and be committed to providing excellent service to our residents.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Prepare meals, snacks, and therapeutic diets according to standardized recipes and production schedules.
Review menus and resident diet orders prior to meal preparation.
Ensure food is prepared, portioned, and served according to dietary requirements.
Maintain proper food temperatures and food safety standards.
Assist with food preparation, storage, labeling, and inventory control.
Ensure kitchen equipment is operated safely and maintained properly.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and food storage areas.
Follow all federal, state, local, and facility regulations regarding food service operations.
Assist during inspections and audits as needed.
Work cooperatively with Dietary Aides, Supervisors, and interdisciplinary team members.
Report equipment malfunctions, food shortages, and safety concerns promptly.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous cooking experience in a healthcare, long-term care, rehabilitation, hospital, school, or institutional setting preferred.
Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and infection control practices.
Ability to prepare meals for large groups while maintaining quality and consistency.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work weekends, holidays, and flexible schedules as needed.
Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.

Schedule

Full-Time and Part-Time positions available.
Weekend and holiday availability may be required.
