  • Follow up on claim denials and rejections, communicate with insurance companies, and resubmit corrected claims promptly
  • Reconcile patient accounts, post payments, and adjust billing records as needed
  • Maintain detailed records of all billing activity and prepare reports for management and auditing purposes
  • Respond to inquiries from residents, families, and insurance representatives regarding billing and payment status
  • Stay current with changes to Medicare, Medicaid, and insurance billing rules and communicate updates to the clinical team
  • Work with nursing and therapy staff to ensure complete and timely documentation that supports accurate billing

What you'll bring

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in a high-volume environment
  • Solid understanding of healthcare billing, insurance processes, and compliance requirements
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills to prioritize multiple claims and follow-ups
  • Clear communication and problem-solving ability to work across departments and with external partners
  • Proficiency with billing software, electronic health records (EHR), and standard office systems
  • Integrity and discretion when handling sensitive financial and patient information

Why join us

  • Competitive salary of $55,000–$65,000 per year, commensurate with experience
  • Full-time, on-site position with stable, predictable hours in a professional office setting
  • Opportunity to grow your expertise in skilled nursing facility billing and healthcare finance
  • Supportive team that values accuracy, collaboration, and continuous improvement
  • Meaningful work that directly impacts our ability to care for our residents
  • Professional development and training in billing compliance and evolving regulations

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree or higher in accounting, healthcare administration, or related field preferred
