Food Service Director
Campbell Hall is seeking a Food Service Director to lead our dietary department and ensure our residents receive nourishing, appetizing meals that support their health and dignity. You'll oversee meal planning, food preparation, and kitchen operations while managing a dedicated team in a long-term care setting where food quality directly affects resident satisfaction and clinical outcomes.
As Food Service Director, you're the backbone of daily life here. Residents look forward to meals—they're a highlight of the day. You'll set the tone for a kitchen that respects therapeutic diets, accommodates individual preferences, and maintains the highest standards of food safety and sanitation. You'll work closely with nursing and care teams to ensure dietary needs are met and communicated clearly.
What you'll do
- Plan menus that balance nutrition, resident preferences, and therapeutic requirements (pureed, diabetic, renal, etc.)
- Oversee food purchasing, inventory management, and budget accountability
- Supervise food preparation, cooking, and plating to ensure consistency and quality
- Train and schedule dietary staff; conduct performance reviews and maintain staffing levels
- Ensure compliance with NYS food safety regulations, HACCP protocols, and facility sanitation standards
- Communicate with nursing staff about resident dietary restrictions, allergies, and special requests
- Maintain equipment, manage repairs, and troubleshoot kitchen operations
- Document food costs, waste, and quality metrics; report to administration
- Stay current on nutrition science and dietary trends in long-term care

Requirements
- High school diploma or GED; associate degree in food service management, nutrition, or hospitality preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years of food service management or supervisory experience
- Demonstrated knowledge of therapeutic diets and NYS food safety / sanitation codes
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs regularly; stand for extended periods during shifts
- Full-time availability, including flexibility for occasional weekends or holidays as operational needs require
- Negative background check
- TB/PPD test and documentation of immunity or clearance per facility policy
- COVID-19 vaccination status per facility policy
